Barbara Ann Wren's Obituary
Barbara Ann Wren, age 63, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. She was born on November 29, 1962 in Rhode Island. Barbara later made her home in Jeffersonton, Virginia, where she built a life centered around family, kindness, and caring for others.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Sheldon David Wren, and their life together was built on love, loyalty, and devotion to their family. She was also a supportive mother to her sons, David Michael Wren and Andrew Scott Wren, and warmly welcomed her daughter-in-law, Amanda Louise Wren, into the family.
Affectionately known as “Memaw”, Barbara treasured her role as a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, Gemma, Maci, and Bode, who brought her endless joy and were the light of her life. Lovingly known as “Aunt Baba”, Barbara shared the same love and warmth with her nieces and nephews. She adored spending time with them, and was always there to make them feel special with love, spoiling, and a warm hug.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert George Oliver and Catherine Mae Oliver.
She is survived by her sisters, Sharon Lee Seelig and her husband Matt Seelig, Deborah Lynn O’Boyle, and Stacy Jeanne LaVenuta and her husband Robert LaVenuta, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Barbara had the kindest heart and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved. She was known for opening her home to others and making everyone feel welcome. She loved making blankets for loved ones and baking cookies, small acts that showed how deeply she cared for those around her. She also enjoyed shopping, always finding joy in giving to the people she loved most. She loved her family fiercely and was the most beautiful person inside and out.
Her warmth, generosity, and supportive spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
Barbara’s love, kindness, and dedication to her family will live on through all who were fortunate enough to know her.
