Dear Scherer Family,

My Father Charles Hunt, Culpeper VA, used to make home visits on your Mom and Dad and assist them with their lawn equipment repair and maintenance there on Yancey Rd, Woodville, my Mom Shirley Hunt would accompany him on these repairs and always enjoyed meeting your Mom and talking with her. Today September 30, 2020 we were in Woodville getting Apples from Jenkins orchard and stopped in at your Mom's home to inquire how she was doing, we were sad to hear of her passing, and I am passing along my Mother's condolences (my Dad died in 2003) although I never met her myself, my parents enjoyed their company very much and spoke very highly of them. All of the best to your family, and so sorry for you loss, it sounds like Barbara was an outstanding example of what it means to be a great human, a great woman.

We were Barbara's neighbors from 1980 to 2019. We lived on Rodman Street so our backyards touched. Barbara was the very best neighbor anyone could wish for. She was never frazzled by watching our two active daughters and assorted pets grow up before her eyes as she had cocktails on her patio. She was always a style setter in fashion and home design. Even into her 90's she was on the cutting edge of not only style but also current affairs. She was brave enough to share her opinion no matter how controversial the topic. In short, she was truly a role model and we will cherish her many contributions to our lives.

One of my earliest memories when we moved to DC was meeting Barbara and Ray, and how kind they were. Mrs. Sherer had an amazing life. My condolences to the family. (3501 Springland, back in the day)
