Barbara Makris' Obituary
She is survived by her brother Warren. She leaves behind her children Jim (Cindy), Karen (Daryl) and Tom (Michele); as well as, her grandchildren Kirsten (Sam), Kyle, Martin, Lexie, Elliot, Lauren and Sam and one great grandchild, Jackson.
Barbara was born in the Panama Canal Zone, settled in Virginia in 1958 and resided in Gold Vein for the last 5 years. She received her Masters Degree in Liberal Arts from George Mason University.
Barbara was fiercely independent, highly intellectual and an avid reader. She was able to converse on many topics, specifically European History.
She was a Master Gardner and very active in the Fauquier Extension Service.
She was preceded in death by her best friend and long time companion, Ron Olsen.
