Barbara Hitt's Obituary
Barbara Lee Hitt, 69, of Culpeper, died on Monday, May 18, 2009 at her residence. She was born on June 25, 1939 in Washington, DC to the late Ralph D. Benton and Laura Kilby-Benton Singers.
Mrs. Hitt was an avid gardener who throughout her life worked with various florists. She lived for her family, devoting every moment to them as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Elmer Lee Hitt of Culpeper, her son, Michael Lee Hitt of Culpeper and her granddaughters, Erin Michele Hitt and Jami Michael Hitt both of Rixeyville.
Additional survivors include her daughter-in-law, Michele Hitt and a special niece and great nephew, Kay and Matthew Cook.
In addition to her father and her beloved mother she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Jacqueline, Marianne, and Michelle.
