Barbara W. Fincham's Obituary
On Thursday, August 11, 2016, Barbara W. Fincham, beloved wife of the late Travers Fincham passed peacefully at Mary’s Place, having previously presided at Boss Inn Farm in Culpeper for over 60 years. She was born August 28, 1928 in Culpeper to the late Shelton and Ruby Hitt Brown.
Mrs. Fincham was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She was a deeply caring and generous woman who loved her family and friends.
She was a loving mother to Sonia K. Mills and her companion, Richard Powell of Alexandria, VA and Joan “Bernie” Pannill and her companion, Tad Crane of Rapidan. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Nancy Pannill Denton and her husband, Michael, Sarah Pannill Anderson and Virginia Clay Pannill; two great grandchildren, Jett Clay Anderson and Rebecca Grace Denton; one brother, John Brown and his wife, Alice and two sisters, Edith Curtis and Patsy Strother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings; and her son-in-law, Roberts Clay Pannill.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at New Salem Baptist Church, 8233 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to your local hospice organization.
