I remember Barbara and her two brothers Lester and Charley while growing up in a close knit neighborhood whether it was playing a game of softball in the summer or football in the winter out on the backfield, or listening to the top songs on the radio out in front of the large horseshoe shaped apartment building at 3200 E. St. S.E,
She was one of if not the prettiest girl in our S.E. D.C. neighborhood. During that period of the early to mid 50's she hung out with my sister Jean a girl named Brenda Hedges and several other girls in the neighborhood. Shortly after that her family moved to northern Virginia and we lost touch.
Thanks to the Internet I was able to make contact with her again several years ago after an absence of close to fifty years and stayed in contact with her up until a little over a year when she started having health issues.
I will miss strolling down memory lane with her once in awhile.
I wish to offer my heartfelt condolences to her friends and family.
May she now rest in eternal peace.
