Barbara June Boyce's Obituary
Barbara Stevens Latham Boyce, 87, of Fredericksburg passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born in Fredericksburg on August 13, 1928.
Barbara was a member of First Christian Church, a dedicated and life-long member of VFW Post #10546 and served in many local and state VFW offices.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Barbara was a seamstress and loved to sew for people. She enjoyed cooking and would help anyone that needed it.
Barbara is survived by her children, Donna Latham Pennington, and her husband, John of Leland, NC, Dennis L. Killmon, of Fredericksburg, and Thyra J. Nichols of Palm Beach, FL; her parents, Louise DeLano and Alvin H. Satterwhite; grandchildren, John (Jay) Pennington, Lisa P. Stormant, Krista Matson, Keri Killmon, Rebecca Gordon, Sabrina Stanley, Johnathan Nichols and Michael Nichols; 13 great-grandchildren including one with whom Barbara was particularly close, Garrett Stormant; two loyal friends who she loved dearly, Lisa Seglem and Karolynn Kyler; her goddaughter, Katilynn Kyler; and many friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley Eugene Latham; her second husband of more than 50 years, Master Sgt. John F. Boyce, retired USMC; and a great-grandson, Kevin Burke.
A memorial service and inurnment will take place at 8:30 am Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Arlington National Cemetery.
