Barbara Pound Aylor's Obituary
Barbara P. Aylor passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
She entered this world on September 8, 1937, the daughter of the late Robert Whitney and Susie Ella (Whitlock) Pound.
Barbara was a most devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She lived most of her adult life in Culpeper with husband John R. Aylor, both active members of the Culpeper United Methodist Church.
Barbara touched everyone with her kindness. She led a most rewarding life, spreading her kindness and loving charm with friends and family members. She enjoyed sending cards and having long phone conversations with the dearest of family members and close friends, who will all miss her.
The fondest memories were the birthdays and holidays that she shared with her family.
She embraced tradition and instilled love and kindness in all she knew. That kindness now lives inside her children and grandson. We will treasure those memories, and she will be forever in our hearts as she has left her mark on all of us who knew her.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Louis William Pound and Bernard Lawrence Pound.
She is survived by her children, Kevin (Kathie) Aylor and Shelley (Raymond) Davenport; grandson, Mason Davenport; sisters, Peggy Ford and Lois Evelyn; brother, Whitney Walton Pound; and sister-in-law, Linda Pound.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on May 6, 2026, at Found and Sons Funeral Home, located at 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to United Methodist Church, 1233 Oaklawn Drive, Culpeper, VA 22701.
