Ayako Lynn Hefner's Obituary
Ayako Lynn Hefner, 94, of Fredericksburg passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023.
Ayako was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Born in Kyoto, Japan, she was raised in a military family during trying times. After meeting her future husband, Leroy Hefner when he was stationed in Japan, she left her beloved homeland to raise her own family in the U.S.
Mom was an inspiration to us all with her work ethic, high morals and tough love. We were blessed to see her reach 94 years of age while leaving us with so many beautiful memories and examples of a mother's true love.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that she who we once enjoyed and deeply loved we know we can never really lose. Mom will continue to live in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
Ayako is survived by her children, Lillian M. Arnold of Fredericksburg, F. Lee Hefner and David R. Hefner and his wife, Tammy, all of Spotsylvania County; five grandchildren, Ian Patterson, Jeremy Hefner, Joshua Hefner, Elizabeth Comer and Christian Hefner; one great-granddaughter, Lailah Hefner, and three great-grandsons, Nehemiah Hefner, Isaiah Hefner and Joshua Hefner Jr.
A private service will be held at a later date.
