Audrey Goodman Edenton's Obituary
Audrey Virginia Goodman Edenton, 82, of Spotsylvania County died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was born April 8, 1929, in Partlow to Bryan M. and Bessie S. Goodman. She was a graduate of Spotsylvania High School, co-owner of J. Alvin Edenton, a builder for over 40 years, and a former employee of FMC Corp.
Audrey was a member of Spotswood Baptist Church and a former member of Wallers Baptist Church.
Audrey is survived by a grandson, John L. Chapman, and son-in-law, James Chapman, both of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Doris G. Eagar of Bowling Green and Evelyn G. Selph of Richmond; two brothers, Bryan K. Goodman and his wife, Shirley, of Partlow and W. Lewis Goodman of Spotsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, J. Alvin Edenton; a daughter, Debra E. Chapman; and a sister, Jean Goodman Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m in Wallers Baptist Church cemetery, 3600 Partlow Road, Partlow, with the Rev. James Graham officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert A. Goodman, Mark T. Goodman, John Chapman, Jim Chapman, Richard LaBelle and Bryan Selph.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging, Attn: Home Delivered Meals, c/o Robin Campbell, 171 Warrenton Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22405.
