Art was very generous with his time and helped our community organize a Technology Club here at Virginia Heritage in 2015. He instructed many of our classes over a two+ year period before beginning to have health issues.
Art and I would get together to set up agendas and curriculums; he often shared memories about his past career as we developed our neighborly friendship. As his health began to decline we often spoke on the phone about technology and our similar health issues to compare notes.
We know Art was suffering with a great deal of pain and it's good to know he is no longer suffering. Our deepest condolences to Debby and his entire family for his passing.
Regards,

As a colleague, I'll remember Art for his unending patience with those of us who didn't have his intelligence and vision. He was able to meet you where you were and guide you to where you needed to be. He was always free with his time and his expertise, with no desire other than to help wherever and however he could.
As a friend, I'll miss his openness and sincerity. You always got the real Art, with no pretense. If he couldn't say something honestly, he just wouldn't say it. He was a model for me of what a true friend should be.

I had the good fortune to work with Art for several years and he was a wonderful friend and colleague. His technical knowledge was extraordinary and his generous friendship and kindness were boundless. We were able to share dinners with Art and Debbie on numerous occasions and it was always lovely. He will be greatly missed.

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed Art's friendship. We were in the "Circle of Confusion" photography group. He was a part of the first show I organized! He had a lot of " technical" info that he shared with us, which was helpful in many cases!
I know he is no longer suffering all the physical pain he had and for that I am grateful. I am glad he was a friend!!
I am sorry for his loss <3
