Arthur Digges' Obituary
Arthur Henry Digges, Sr., 89, of Bealeton died Friday, March 04, 2011 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born May 16, 1921 in Bealeton, one of thirteen brothers and sisters to the late Dudley Harvey and Susie Green Digges.
Mr. Digges was a retired veteran of the US Navy and Civil Service after serving for over 40 years. He was an honored member of The Sons of The Confederate Veterans of the W.E. James Camp # 74 in Darlington, SC.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Digges, two children, Arthur Henry Digges, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Alexandria and Joyce Digges of Hamer, SC, five grandchildren, Deborah Wade, Leslie Wese, Christopher Digges, Johnathan Digges, Leigh Anne Falls, one sister, Betty Kudell, and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Cynthia Ann Digges, and one grandson, Daniel Digges.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 12 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery with Pastor Freddy Meadows officiating. Military honors will be provided by Culpeper American Legion Post # 330 and V.F.W. Post # 2524.
