Ardath Honora Raube's Obituary
Ardath Honora Raube, 91, of Fredericksburg, VA went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2011 at Carriage Hill Health and Rehab Center.
Ardath was born in Schenectady NY on September 24, 1920, the daughter of William and Dora Mae Betting. She attended high school in Schenectady, and it was during those years that she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Following high school, she attended Wheaton College in Illinois majoring in Sociology where she met her future husband, Chet Raube. They married June 19, 1941 and recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Family survivors are her husband Chet and their two sons—Chet, a pastor living in Springfield OR with his wife Sue, and Jim, a financial consultant living in Centreville, VA with his wife Margy. They also have six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Ardath and her husband lived in various places during their marriage, the last at Summerlake Retirement Community in Fredericksburg. Ardath was a homemaker, specializing in hospitality with friends and family and keeping a watchful eye on two active sons. She also was active in churches, teaching children in Bible, counseling young church women, serving as deaconess, and transporting ladies to medical appointments.
Proverbs 3:5&6 ranked among Ardath’s favorite Bible verses. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spotswood Baptist Church, 4009 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
Burial arrangements are with Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, Fredericksburg VA. Ardath was interred at the Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle VA.
