Anthony Costello
Anthony Costello, 89, recently of Culpeper, formerly a resident of Kenmore, NY, died peacefully surrounded by his family on April 15, 2016. Anthony was born on May 7, 1926 in Buffalo, NY to the late Michael Costello and the late Rose Crage Costello.
Anthony retired from the Town of Tonawanda where he worked in the Parks and Recreation Department. He was a devout member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Hatfield, PA, an avid sports fan and followed all the Buffalo, NY teams. Anthony was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in WWII and the Korean Conflict.
Anthony is survived by his five children; Cynthia Leach and her husband John of Culpeper, VA, Raymond Costello and his wife Sandy of Meridian, ID, Susan Adrian and her husband Peter of Williamsville, NY, Patrice Kaus and her husband Warren of N. Ft. Myers, FL and Cheryl Finkbeiner and her husband Donald of Tallahassee, FL. Also survived by ten grandchildren; Heather Howerton and her husband Alex of Hatfield, PA, Robert Leach and his wife Renee of Ft. Meade, MD, Sarah Leach of Culpeper, VA, Jeremy Kaus of Naples, FL, Christopher Finkbeiner and his wife Brittany of Tallahassee, FL, Joshua Kaus of Naples, FL, Lauren Donovan and her husband Christopher of Bonita Springs, FL, Matthew Adrian of Rochester, NY, Cory Kaus of N. Ft. Myers, FL and Gregory Adrian of Burlington, VT. Anthony is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
Additionally, Anthony is also survived by his one sister, Marie Tschieder of Tallahassee, FL and three brothers; Daniel Costello of Alaska, Peter Costello of Augusta, GA and John Costello and his wife Jan of Rochester, NY.
In addition to his parents, Anthony is preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Patricia Costello and his second wife of four years, Eleanor Costello and four siblings Philomena, Carmella, Michael and Victor.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels and Cremation Services, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, with Chaplain Denise Vogt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery (New) with military honor provided by the Culpeper VFW post 2425 Honor Guard.
Pallbearers named are; John Leach, Peter Adrian, Donald Finkbeiner, Robert Leach, Matthew Adrian and Gregory Adrian.
