Anna Maria Kathleen Haleblian's Obituary
Anna Maria "Nonna" left us Monday, December 10, 2018 and went home to her loving husband, Donald Haleblian. She was surrounded by her loving daughter, son-in law, and grandsons, as she was lifted to a higher place.
Anna Maria will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother "Nonna", and a great friend. Her Italian heritage always played a role in raising her family. Her love for her family and her love for life was felt with every touch.
As a young girl in Italy, Anna Maria liked ballet and going out dancing. That is when she fell in love with Donald Haleblian, the love of her life, and that is when they were married and started their life.
Anna Maria had two children, daughter, Doreen Bowen and son, Donald Haleblian. When Anna Maria and Don Haleblian moved to Springfield that is where she met life long best friends, Lee and Herb, Betty and Doug, Barbara and John, Martini, Connie, Carol and Donna.
She loved cooking and was unbelievably good at it and also loved teaching everyone how to cook. They moved to Fredericksburg so she could be with her grandchildren, who she loved so very much. Nothing made Anna Maria smile more than her grandsons, whether it was watching them at a sporting event or babysitting, the boys were drawn to their Nonna as she always had something funny to say to make them laugh. Her broken English was a family fun time as we were always on the edge of our seat waiting to see what Nonna was about to say.
In Fredericksburg "Lee's Park" she made more lifetime best friends, Sylvia, Julie, Judy F., and Judy L. In her Fredericksburg home her talent of turning common seashells found on the beaches into beautiful flower arrangements, which was her passion and to this day many are still as beautiful as the day she made them.
Anna Maria was loving to all of her friends and family; there was nothing she would not do for anyone. She will now be reunited and happy once again with the man of her dreams and in her heart forever, Donald K. Haleblian.
She leaves behind her daughter, Doreen Bowen and her husband, Stephen, and their children, Billy, Anthony, Mathew, Stephen and Brent Steffey and his wife, Samantha, and two great-grandchildren, Emory and Laken; her son, Donald Haleblian and his wife, Sasha, and their son, Nicholas; and her sisters, Linda and Julie.
Anna Marie’s family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
