Anna Byrd Cannon Williams' Obituary
Anna Byrd Cannon Williams, 96, of Alexandria, died on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Hermitage Health Care Center in Alexandria, VA. She was born on November 16, 1919 in Castleton, VA and was the youngest of ten children born to the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Cannon.
She leaves behind a son, Glenn L. Williams, Jr. of Arlington, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Glenn L. “Buck” Williams.
Mrs. Williams and her family lived in Front Royal, VA for a number of years before moving to Flint Hill where they lived for 9 years. In 1960, they moved to Alexandria, VA where she worked at Melpar and her husband worked at the Post Office until they retired.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper, VA with Dr. Wayne Bernardo officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to First Baptist Church of Alexandria, 2932 King St. Alexandria, VA 22302.
