Andrew McClain Calvert's Obituary
Andrew McClain Calvert, 89, of Culpeper, VA died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at English Meadows Senior Living Community. He was born January 9, 1929 in Nashville, TN to the late Douglas and Ida Calvert.
Mr. Calvert was a graduate of Tennessee Tech. He settled in Culpeper in 1968 and retired from the federal government as a Patent Examiner. He was a 50 year member of the Culpeper Church of Christ, enjoyed tinkering with machinery and working on his farm.
He is survived by four sons, David Calvert and his wife, Karen of Culpeper, VA Robert Calvert and his wife, Judith of Spotsylvania, VA, Randall Calvert and his wife, Andrea of Edgewood, WA, and Clayton Calvert and his wife, Mary of Fredericksburg, VA; and a brother, James Calvert and his wife, Katherine of Springfield, TN.
Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Zachary Calvert and his wife, Brianna of Ashburn, VA, Bethany Bettis and her husband, Justin of Culpeper, Mark Mitchell and his wife, Julia Battocchi of Arlington, VA, Lindsey Calvert and her husband, Joe Angevine of Tacoma, WA, Keaton Calvert of Edgewood, WA, and Katherine and Robert Calvert, both of Fredericksburg, VA; and two great grandchildren, Addyson and Izabella Bettis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Calvert; and one brother, Douglas Calvert.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Minister Mike Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by Culpeper VFW Post 2524.
