Alvin Jett's Obituary
Mr. Alvin L. Jett, 80, of Spotsylvania passed away on January 25, 2010 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Jett was born on May 7, 1929 in Stafford to the late Peter and Ola Mae Jett. He was a truck driver most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and raising wild life. Mr. Jett was a good husband and a great father.
Mr. Jett is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Shirley Jett of Spotsylvania; two sons, Robert and his wife Barbara Ann of King George, Ricky and his wife Carla of Spotsylvania; three daughters, Linda Cole and her husband Gary, Lori Shelton and her husband Bobby, and Kathy Curtis and her husband Burt, all of Spotsylvania. Additional survivors include a sister, Geraldine Shelton of King George; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ralph, a son William Alvin Jett, and a grandson, Ronald Doggett, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service for Mr. Jett will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010 at the funeral chapel at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ray Farrow officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for contributions for funeral expenses be made to Found and Sons.
