My wife Lucy and I loved our friend & closest neighbor Pop Grigsby --- the twinkle in his eyes, his good humor, and especially how he made a couple of transplanted Yankees feel welcome in his home. This was a very good man who touched many lives, including ours. ----Greg Rushford

You were the best Bus Driver that Rappahannock Co. ever had I rember sitting on the front seat right behind you talking to you all the way too and from School I just couldn't wait tell i was old enough to drive a School bus you showed me alot about driving a bus.
God Bless you and may you Rest in Peace.
For the past 29 years, I have had a shining example in my life of the type of person I should strive to become. I have learned to stop and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the country, how to bottle feed calves, shuck corn for chickens, and as recently as last Thursday, you were still teaching me things as you promptly took an apple out of my hand that I was slicing for you and taught me the correct way to peel and slice an apple. You shared stories about my heritage and made me laugh more than anyone else. You were strong and gentle at the same time and you showed me how to live a life that would please God. You told me last week to get my sweet potatoes out of the ground because it was time. Over the last 6 months, I grew to love you even more (and I didn't think that was possible), every time I saw you with Pierce. Your face lit up when I brought him into your kitchen and there was no sitting near you with him, he had to be ON YOUR LAP! You told him stories and tried to make sense of his babble. You took his side when I wouldn't let him have a small taste of sugar last week, and you genuinely loved him with all of your heart, as you loved all of us. You shared a bond with him greater than I anticipated (perhaps it's because he is a Pisces, like you!) and I promise you that I will make sure he knows all about his Pop as he grows, and I hope he grows up to be just like you! I know you are loving Heaven, but I want you to know my heart is broken and we will miss you every single day until we see you again.

You were the best Pop a granddaughter could ever ask for. The love for your family was precious to us all and will never be forgotten. I will miss you with all of my heart. Rest in Peace Pop. We love you.
