Alpheaus Franklin Settle's Obituary
Alpheaus Franklin Settle, 61, of Culpeper died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born December 12, 1944 to the late Jane Elizabeth Settle and his step father, James Moffett Cloud.
Mr. Settle was a past member of the Castleton Fire Department and past president of the Culpeper Bowling Lanes. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Scrabble. He was employed with Culpeper Concrete as a truck driver for forty years. He loved bowling, playing horseshoes, and working outdoors doing yard work. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather who loved and cherished his family greatly. His grandchildren were his world. He will be missed by his family, many friends, and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Betty Ann Settle; his son, Gregory Wayne Settle, Sr. and his wife, Sandra of Culpeper, and his children, Gregory Wayne Settle, Jr., Samantha Nicole Settle, Tyler William Settle; his son, Jerry Franklin Settle, Sr., and his fiancée, Tonya Gilbert of Richardsville, and his children, Jerry Franklin Settle, Jr., Brittany Marie Settle, Meghan Destiny Settle, all of Culpeper, his ex daughter-in-law, Robin Lynn Settle of Culpeper, his two step grandchildren, Gary Lee Gilbert, and Dustin Kyle Gilbert both of Richardsville.
Additional survivors include his siblings, Delsie Heflin and her husband, Mike of Culpeper, James R. Settle and his wife, Bridgett of Warrenton, William Settle and his wife, Denise of Amissville, Carroll Settle and his wife, Melody of Amissville, Linda Settle of Rixeyville, and Patricia Settle of Rixeyville.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sandy Martin and Rev. Mark Jenkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg Settle, Jr., Jerry Settle, Jr., Jason Settle, Wayne Jenkins, Hurley Banks, and Larry Kenny. Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Settle.
