Aloha Deal Hitt's Obituary
Aloha Deal Hitt, of Castleton, VA, passed away peacefully, at 88, with loved ones gathered around her on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. She was born and raised in Castleton, VA on June 15, 1936, on her parents’ little farm where she resided with her family until she passed. She was proud of the fact that she was born “right in the kitchen” of her parents’ home which is still on the property today!
A woman known by many as “Nannie” or “Aloe” was dearly loved by many, far and near. She was known for her wild spirit and her infectious laughter. Everyone knew when she entered the room with that signature, high-pitched laughter would always ring out above the noise. With her bubbly personality, Aloha never met a stranger and was always “ready freddy” for the next adventure. She was often found or seen at many church services, even in her later years she would catch a ride with anyone that would pick her up.
Today she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, along with her beloved sweetheart of 51 years, her husband “Red”, Raymond Elwood Hitt. She met “Red” over a cold dipper of water after working on the farm, and her bubbly nature won his heart. She is also reunited with her two sons, Christopher and Roger Hitt.
Her memory is cherished and remembered by her remaining family, her son, Mark Hitt; granddaughter, Kendra Frazier and her husband, Chad, along with their two children, Clayton and Kailyn; her grandson, Corey Hitt, and his wife, Michelle, and their child, Harper Aloha; her granddaughter, Haley Dover, and her fiancé, Coty Atkins, and their children, Madalynn, Paislee, and Natalie; and her close companion, Robert Whorton. She is also honored by all the many friends she met along the way, the ones she helped raise, nurture, and love.
Today we celebrate her life of faith, that even through a life of many tragedies, she has finished her course and ran her race with dignity and grace, never losing her faith in God. She leaves behind a great legacy of hope and faith for her family and friends to follow and see her again in Heaven.
