Alice Cox Hamilton's Obituary
Alice Cox Hamilton, 97, of Culpeper passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 15, 1920 in Akron, OH, the last surviving child to the late Bruce and Effie Chappell Cox.
Mrs. Hamilton was a member of Mt. Sidney United Methodist Church in Mt. Sidney, VA.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara “Bootie” Nicholas and her husband, Jack of Culpeper; her special friend, Dorothy “Dot” Hess of Mt. Sidney, VA; her sister-in-law, Anna Cox of Fredericksburg, VA; her grandchildren, Donnie and Kelli Huntley of Culpeper, VA, Todd Huntley of Sterling, VA, Melissa and Mike Taber of Fredericksburg, VA, Mark and Laci Nicholas of Fredericksburg, VA, Debbie Napier of Harrisonburg, VA, Robyn Hause of Staunton, VA, Donna Hamilton of Greensboro, NC, Sherry Kelly of Holly Springs, NC, and Susan and Cody Armentrout of Hinton, VA; sixteen great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Hamilton; her son, Robert Lee Hamilton; and nine siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Rev. Brad Hales officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro with Gary Armstrong, nephew, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Mt. Sidney United Methodist Church, c/o Twyla Austin, 2350 Lee Hwy, Mt. Sidney, VA 24467.
