Alice Gore's Obituary
Alice was 100 years old. She was born on July 8, 1920 in Culpeper, VA to the late Charles Franklin Deal and Vergie Frazier Deal Masche. Alice passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Culpeper Health and Rehab Center.
She retired from Aileen Sewing Factory. Alice loved going to church and reading her Bible and listening to gospel music. She was known as “Nanny” to all her grandchildren.
Alice is survived by one daughter, Marsha G. Hoffman, of Culpeper and one sister, Madeleine VanFleet and her husband, Harry from New Jersey.
She also leaves behind, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, and a host of additional nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Carlton (Mickey) Gore.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 11, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Pastor Steve Hoffman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Due to COVID-19 mandates, masks are required to enter the building. Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alice’s name to Bethel Baptist Church, 6328 Hoover Road, Reva, VA 22735.
