Alice was our wonderful neighbor from the time we moved to our home with young children in 1983 until she left for Virginia. She was a wonderful neighbor and our relationship mostly included discussion of our flowers and flower beds, along with updates to what happened over the winter when we were not in the yard as much, the adventures of her trips to Virginia, or how her sons or grandchildren were doing. She was always friendly and fun and brightened our days with every visit. There are a few stories I loved to tell about Alice, but the best one is her gardening skills. She would be working her garden with a pair of khaki pants and a white blouse on and finish her work as clean as she started. I on the other hand, no matter what I did, would end up covered with mud or just dirt and need to get inside to shower! I never figured out how she did it! We will always have great memories of the years she lived behind us. God Bless Alice and her family.
