AC was our brother. He will be missed and we remember his way of treating his family, as if he didn't care for them, but he really did. He kept everyone of us at bay, except Eleanor. She was his buddy and we all knew that AC would be there for us if we needed him. He was always protective of me, because I was the baby in the family and I knew that he always wanted the best for me, even in his roughness.
When I was just graduating from high school and received my class ring, Eileen and I went to Ocean City to celebrate this passage. I didn't take off my ring when I went in the beach and of course a wave hit me and off flew my ring and lost forever. I was so upset. Upon returning home and explaining to my parents what had happen and knowing they would be able to replace it, AC said that he would replace it for me and he paid to have another exact ring made for me. He knew how important that ring was to me and because of his kindness, I treasure this ring. Few people knew of his kindness side, but I did.
It was so difficult for us to watch AC go through so much turmoil of illness and hospital stays. He hated not being able to walk or have a life that he had before.
We, as your sisters and brothers,
hope that you are at peace now and when you met up with our parents, that it was a joyous reunion. The ones you left behind will be strong and carry on in their own way.
