Alan Russell Brown's Obituary
Alan Russell Brown, 57, of Culpeper died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at his residence. He was born January 29, 1950 in Albemarle County to Frances Carder Brown and the late Baldwin S. “Red” Brown.
Alan was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the simple things in life, being outdoors camping, truck pulling and spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother he is survived by two children, Stacy Hoffman and her husband, Michael of Culpeper, and Alan Michael Brown of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include two brothers, David Brown and his wife, Paige of Culpeper and Todd Brown and his wife, Sandra of Chester Gap, VA two grandchildren, Mikayla Brown and Ryan Hoffman, one step grandson Christopher Hoffman, the mother of his children, Vickie Brown of Culpeper and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, John Brown and his grandson, Alan Michael Brown, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Dr. Ted Fuson officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Compton, Kenny Kilby, Michael Kilby, Larry Woodward, Nathan Barnes, and Stanley Hawkins.
Memorial contributions may be made in Alan’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall Street, 19th Floor New York, NY 10005.
