I meet Alan at the NTA convention several years ago in Lima Ohio. He was a good man and I will remember him always. Prayers for his family as they deal with his passing.
Alan and I met in 1973. We became fast friends and shared many adventures. No matter if we were sitting around a camp fire or the kitchen table we shared a million laughs and good times. Until we meet again old friend keep your powder dry. You will be forever missed. Your friend Wardy.

I unfortunately, yet fortunately, only knew Alan during the time he was ill. As a nurse at the hospital, I would see Alan pretty frequently over the last couple of years. In that short time, I realized very quickly that he was someone special. Despite his situation, he always had a big smile on his face, a kind word, an interesting story, NEVER a complaint and a perseverance that was most admirable. An absolutely lovely person, who was a true inspiration to so many. He touched lives that he will never even realize. What a blessing to share in knowing him. God's peace be with the Huot family, as Alan is in the presence of the Lord.
