Alan Byrd Frazier's Obituary
Alan Byrd Frazier, 70, of Culpeper, Va., entered onto a new path alongside his Lord on Dec. 7, 2017, at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with illness.
Mr. Frazier, who was born Aug. 10, 1947 in Warrenton, grew up in Culpeper and spent most of his life there.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Byrd Frazier; his mother, Elizabeth Pearl Haynes Frazier Nicholson, and his stepfather, Percel Dane Nicholson.
Mr. Frazier is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 42 years, Barbara Jean Ocker Frazier; four sons, Gregory Alan Frazier of San Jose, Calif.; Ronnie Alan Frazier of Brandy Station; Daniel Alan Frazier of Culpeper; and Steven Alan Frazier of Culpeper; sister Doris Frazier Creel of Culpeper and her husband, Gordon; and brother Donald Ray Nicholson of Culpeper.
Mr. Frazier was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend to many. He was exceptional at making and sustaining friendships among people from all walks of life. His earnest and personable nature, always quick to smile and share a hearty laugh, combined with his warmth and honesty to make Mr. Frazier someone others loved to be around and speak with. He was a profound inspiration to many, a guiding light to his children, a storyteller extraordinaire and an equally proficient listener. Mr. Frazier was a longtime superfan of the Oakland Raiders. He loved horse racing and achieved a dream when he was successful as an owner of race horses.
A funeral service is set for Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, with Gloria Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
