July 20, 2002 - October 30, 2020
Zachary David Wilbur, our beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend, passed from this world into the presence of His Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ on October 30, 2020, at the age of eighteen. Although this event was a great shock to us, the exact moment was known by the Father in Heaven from before the foundations of the earth. As a very young boy, Zachary professed his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to save his soul and give him eternal life. Over the years we observed clearly the fruit that accompany a redeemed soul. We have perfect confidence that Zachary has not, in fact, died at all, but simply awaits a new body while his earthly body sleeps. Zachary is “absent from the body, present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8 In this life Zach enjoyed all things math and music. He loved pointing out the wonderful patterns in God’s Creation, and would discuss prime numbers and little known mathematical functions with anyone willing to listen. One of his dreams was to solve the coveted mathematical Riemann Hypothesis. As one of his brothers has said, “He knows the answer now.” He made a genuine advancement in the field of cryptography and hoped to build from that a career in mathematics. The music he loved and often played on the piano reflected him perfectly. From orchestral polyrhythmic songs to Keith Green, Zach had unique and specific taste. He loved to tell any and all about his music, his math, and most of all, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Zach has a sister Alison, a brother Paul, and another sibling known only to God, as well as his grandfather Robert Westfall, who have gone on before him. Awaiting our reunion with him are his parents Joseph and Laura Wilbur, his older brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Sophia, his twin brother Daniel, and his three younger sisters Audra, Amelia, and Melody. In addition, Zach leaves behind his loving grandparents Mary and Vinicio Stiaccini, John and Antoinette Wilbur, and Isobel Westfall. He will also be missed by a beautiful young lady, Rebekah Espino, who would have become his wife had our Lord permitted. We will miss him and grieve his loss all our remaining days. But we do not sorrow without hope. Our hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ who has promised all who know Him that we will meet again. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 1 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel Culpeper. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Due to COVID-19 mandates, masks are required to enter the building. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. An online guestbook and tribute wall are available at www.foundandsons.com. Found and Sons of Culpeper is serving the family.
