He moved his family to Fredericksburg in 1982 to be closer to his job at Better Business Machines. In 1989 he started working as a Computer Specialist for NASA in the DC area. In 1997, he continued working for NASA at Langley in Hampton until his retirement. Les was known for his love of cooking. He cooked for family, friends, fundraisers at Eastland UMC, the Boy Scouts and Men's group at Beech Grove UMC, the Easter Egg Factory at Beech Grove UMC, the Salvation Army, and many bake sales at all of the churches in which he was a member. Les was a devoted Christian and took great pride in helping others. He did many mission projects and fundraisers for Silverbrook UMC, Eastland UMC, and Beech Grove UMC. He was always willing to help cook something or fix something. He was a member of the VFW. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his memory to Eastland UMC in Fredericksburg or Beech Grove UMC in Suffolk. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday February 5 at 2PM at Eastland UMC 10718 Courthouse Rd in Fredericksburg. A reception will follow. A private burial at Quantico will be held at a later date.
