    Michael Lee Kerns

    August 19, 1952 - March 15, 2022

Michael Lee Kerns, 69, ran to the arms of Jesus and his “mama” Lizzy on March 15, 2022. Born August 19, 1952 in Remington Virginia to Virginia Fincham and Shirley Carter Kerns Jr. He worked many years and retired from Euro Composites in Elkwood, Virginia. He cherished the friendships he made there. Mike never met a stranger and had a soul for others, he was unwavering in his love and compassion for people. He enjoyed hard work, the mountains, riding the back roads and singing, and most of all scaring whichever family member he made his victim. Many years ago he gave his heart to Jesus and his family takes comfort in knowing he was a man after God’s own heart. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Tracy Ruane. His maternal grandparents Elizabeth “Lizzy” Fincham and William Wade Fincham. His paternal grandparents Shirely C Kerns Sr. and Nora Kerns. Left to cherish his memory are his children Katie Lou Morris, Christine Fincham (Tommy), Michelle Frank (Steven), Crystal Kerns, Michael “Aaron” Kerns, and Jacob Kerns. He is also survived by his siblings who he loved like only a big brother can, Patricia Keyser (Charles), Carmen Ball (Lawrence), John Canard (Christine), Troy Ruane (Cheri), and Conrad Canard (Tammy). His grandchildren Shelby Geer (Damian), Chelsee Fincham (fiancé – Matthew), Eden “Kassi” Medlin, Gabriel Medlin, and Lucas Kerns. Two great grandchildren, Olivia Lickliter and Maverick Geer. A host of nieces, nephews, friends, and especially many cousins , who he considered siblings, are also left to cherish his memory. Per his request he will be cremated (and spread on the mountain), there will be no service. An online guestbook and tribute wall are available at www.foundandsons.com Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
