I can still recall meeting Marty and Elena.. They were moving to the barn from incredible other barns. Both of them took one look and I could see how absolutely underwhelmed they were. They had known the greatest barns for their horses, for Tendy, and Bud, and Nikita, Queenie, Prescie, Rever, Laguna, It must have seemed an absolute dump to Marty and Elena. Yet, Yet, it would be theirs, and I would, for all my incompetence and worthlessness, I would fall in love with the horses and with Nicky Woo and with all of the animals and with Elena and with the extraordinary brilliance of Marty I even managed to procure Jack for Elena. Many people did not understand the wonderful relationship between Marty and his beloved daughter. He would have done anything for her and often did. He wanted her success, sometimes maybe even more than she did, but it wasn't about him, it was about them, and about their wonderful animals, about (sorry I am old, I can't remember some of the names; remember them for me Elena). I will be in touch tomorrow.
