Lilia Pugal Daus-Woody, 71, of Unionville, Virginia, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 25, 2021, at her home. She was born April 24, 1949 in Manaoag Pangasinan, Philippines, to the late Bernardo and Florencia Daus. Lilia graduated from Baguio College in Baguio City with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. Lilia worked for the Department of Agrarian Reform in Urdaneta Pangasinan, Philippines. She also worked for many years at the Philippine Post Office in San Fernando Pampanga, Philippines until moving to Hawaii. In 2001, Lilia was introduced to William ‘Bill’ Woody by her niece Gemma (Walter) Mortley. Lilia and Bill were married May 6, 2002. They shared 20 years of love, laughter and happiness. Lilia had a contagious laugh, great sense of humor and was a light to those around her. Lilia accepted Christ as her savior in Hawaii and was baptized by Pastor Perry Forrester in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church. Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Lilia was preceded in death by her parents Bernardo Daus and mother Florencia Daus (nee Pugal); brothers Villamor Daus, Arcenio Daus; sisters Azucena Daus, and Julie Binavince. Lilia is survived by her husband William Woody, step-daughters Cassandra Wexler (Kyle), Shelley Garner; brother Remigio (Hazel) Daus; sisters Nanita Hidalgo, Felicitas Milanes; many aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of church family and friends; all of whom she loved and touched deeply. Please join us in celebrating her life on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at 11:00 AM; funeral held at Faith Baptist Church, with Pastor Kurt Skelly officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM with Pastor Don Forrester officiating. Visitation will be Monday, March 1, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Found and Sons Funeral Service Chapel. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required in the funeral home.
