Harold Stanley Alward Jr.
December 21, 1943 - November 16, 2021
Harold (Petey) Stanley Alward Jr., 77, of Spotsylvania, Va, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 16th at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Va. with his son Christopher by his side. Petey was born on December 21, 1943 in Alexandria, Va. He was the second child, and first son to parents Harold Stanley Alward Sr. and Emma Louise Wooster. Petey was a lifelong Virginian who spent most of his life living in Falls Church, Va. Petey was a well-known fixture in the community. Despite significant challenges, Petey held two full-time jobs, having worked at The Best Car Wash in Falls Church for over 45 years, as well as the 7-11 next door. Petey was a single dad who raised his son with the aid of his loving and dedicated sister, Linda (Donald) and family. Petey had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone who needed it, and that person became an instant life-long friend of Petey’s. Everyone knew Petey. Petey loved classic cars and car shows, gardening, “junkin” and antiquing. Petey is survived by his son, Christopher Alward of Spotsylvania, Va, grandson Bailey Alward of Christiansburg, Va, and many loving family members and great friends. Petey was preceded in death by both parents Harold and Emma Alward, and his sister, Linda Alward (Davis). At Petey’s request, there will be no service. The family will hold a Celebration of Life Ceremony at a later date. Special thanks to Kelley’s Helpful Hands, Mary Washington Hospital, Falls Run Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Found and Sons Funeral Chapels and Cremation Service.
