Brenda P. Brent went to her heavenly home on August 23, 2021. She was a long-time resident of Fredericksburg and surrounding areas and was a graduate of Stafford High School. Brenda had four long careers as a patient advocate at Mary Washington Hospital, as insurance agent selling big trucker’s insurance for both John Ihlenfeld and Jenni Insurance Agencies, as a manager at Rite Aid and as a caregiver to many people. She loved helping people and made a lasting impression on all of those that she met. Brenda loved doing crafts and going to craft fairs. She made jewelry and blankets. Doing diamond paintings and coloring were two of her favorite things to do to relax, along with listening to bluegrass music. She loved watching investigative crime shows, shows about World War II and John Wayne movies. If she wasn’t working on her crafts or watching her favorite television shows, you could always catch her reading her Kindle. She loved reading books about World War II history, westerns especially Louis L’Amour books and science fiction. Brenda loved her family very much. She was known as Mamma or Mamma Brenda to many of her nieces and nephews, along with many of her childrens’ friends. Brenda is survived by her husband Frank A. Brent, Sr., her daughters Brenda Jean and Julie L. Brent and her son Frank A. Brent, Jr. and his husband Tom Patterson, whom she loved as if he was her own. Sisters Jackie Gordon, Hulda Elswick, Ruby Cooper (Brad), Deannie Wood (Billy) and Amy Ennis (Charles). Special nieces Betty Wratchford, Delia Ennis (Steven Caylor), Caitlyn Datesman (Brian) and Brandy Brady (Ronnie). Special nephews Branson “B” Wratchford and Dennis Roberson (Theresa). Special great nieces Shannon Jacobs, Karissa Roberson, Chrissy Blake, Josie Wilson, Belle Gallimore and Layla Smith. Special great nephews Jacob Roberson, Timmy Hoffman (Samantha), David Wratchford, Daniel Jacobs and Jacob Smith. Special great great nephew James Wilson Wratchford. Along with many, many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her best friend/sister Anne Krause (Calvin). Special family friend Becky Simmons. Brenda was preceded in death by her father Floyd Alvin Powell, her mother Flossie “Janie” Imogene Powell, her grandmother Delia Betty Smith, her brother Alvin Dew Brooks, sister Connie Gay Champ and her great nephews Chance Logan Jett and Brodie Layne King. There will be a viewing for the family on August 29, 2021, from 2 to 4, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to a cancer organization in Brenda’s name.
