    Alma Ruth Tyler

    October 11, 1926 - April 6, 2021

Alma Ruth Tyler of Culpeper Virginia passed with peace and grace on Tuesday April 6, 2021 at Culpeper Hospital, with her family at her side before transitioning. Alma was born on October 11, 1926 in Culpeper Virginia to the late Anna Wood, and James Ashby. Alma married Ray Tyler of Culpeper Va. in Sperryville Pike Virginia. After marrying Ray, she worked for the Culpeper Nursing Center as well as being a private home care provider for the Aides family before retiring. She threw her energies into raising their children while caring for others. Although her story was limited, she had a tremendous impact on her family. She was the family Matriarch, care giver, support system and an anchor. She will be always remembered as a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest passion was helping others. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Ray Tucker Tyler who passed in October 1997, her sisters Minnie Brown, Sarah and Ruth and her brother James Wood. She is survived by her 7 children Raymond (Jennie Waters), Olive (Larry Steward), James (Edna Tyler), Shena (James Lightfoot), Avis (Robert Clark-deceased), Llyord Tyler, and Teri Tyler. Her two nieces Sheila Johnson, and Hope Brown, 13 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and their children. When you have completed your assignment and your ministry, God comes and takes you home with him to paradise. The one thing we all know is Alma Tyler affectionately known to us as mama and grandma had completed her assignment. She loved everyone she housed, feed, clothed, and supported. She lived 94 years and even hours before she passed, she was comforting her family to help ease the pain of her home going. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery with Doug Thompson officiating. An online tribute wall and guestbook is available at www.foundandsons.com Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
