Lynette was many things, a vibrant, smiling, daughter; forgiving, kindhearted, praying mother, diligent, intuitive manager, persistent, sacrificing care giver, and welcoming committee all in one. She embodied in life, actions, deeds, and words what it meant to live and love. She gave everyone the time they needed to understand, to feel, to grow into who they are destined to be. “Love is patient.” She gave freely to others in need without ever expecting anything in return, we’ll unless it was one of her many favorite recipes…. Thank you didn’t want to disappoint and looked forward to seeing her smile so you added something, perfected it even more and served it to her. She enjoyed it and you exchanged tips and tricks. “Love is kind.” Mom never put herself ahead nor above anyone. She always expressed love to everyone. She truly made all her equal. “It does not envy; it does not boast.” Lynette complimented, she encouraged, she advised without ever needing to be asked to do so. Even more, she accepted advice and counsel too. “It is not proud.” She forgave easily, and although her memory was perfect, she NEVER held your past against you. “It does not dishonor others; it is not self-seeking.” She could always find the silver lining in all situation; words of encouragement came naturally even when she knew and you knew you were wrong. “It is not easily angered it keeps no records of wrongs.” She kept everyone safe, loved, laughing, joyful, fed, and welcomed. No matter what time you showed up at her door, it was opened, she was waiting, and a hot meal or cold depending on the season was waiting. You never left wanting for anything more than a hug until next time and truly looked forward to the NEXT TIME. At her home you always rested and recharged. “Love always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres. LOVE NEVER FAILS.” So as we say farewell for now, as Mom is in her eternal slumber, has pain no more, is renewed and energetic again, REMEMBER the love she showed and shared with you and pay it forward because Mom wouldn’t have it any other way! “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” May she rest peacefully forevermore until we meet again.
