Sam Found, Co-Founder and Owner
April 23rd, 1965 to October 29th, 2011
Sam was born in Bilborough, England, and raised in Nokesville, Virginia. He lived in Spotsylvania County. Sam graduated from Brentsville District High School and later was educated at Elon College in North Carolina. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1987 and is the co-founder of Found and Sons Funeral Chapels- Cremation Service and Affordable Funeral Services.
Sam is past president and board member of the Northern Virginia Funeral Directors Association, past president and board member of the American Heart Association. He also received the Culpeper Colonels Award in 2001, which is Culpeper County’s highest citizen service award. His dedication to community service includes having served on many boards, including the Piedmont United Way, the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club and several others. Sam is a 32nd degree Mason and is a member of Fairfax Masonic Lodge #43 A.F. & A. M. and the Alexandria Scottish Rite. He has two daughters, Julie who is attending Virginia Commonwealth University and Jill who is attending the College of William & Mary.
Sam died October 29th, 2011 at his parents house in Lake Anna surrounded by his loving family. His vison and leadership will be dearly missed.......
Scott O. Found, Owner/ Funeral Director
Scott was born in Prince William Hospital and grew up in Nokesville, VA, graduated from Brentsville District High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He joined the family funeral firm in 1991. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Culpeper, a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, past president and was named Rotarian of the Year twice, once in 1995 and again in 1999. He also received the Culpeper Colonels Award, Culpeper County’s highest citizen service award, and was given the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce Small Business Person of the Year award for 2001. He is also the recipient for the Culpeper County Schools Golden Apple Award in 2005. Scott was named Culpeper Citizen Coach of the Year in 2006, Free Lance Star Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2007 and was one of eight coaches in the U.S. selected for the 2007 U.S. Lacrosse Senior All-Star Showcase in Denver, CO. Scott has volunteered coaching lacrosse in Culpeper and Stafford for the past 13 years and co-founded the Culpeper Lacrosse Association. He wass defensive coordinator at Colonial Forge High School in Stafford, VA in 2008-2010. Scott recently joined Culpeper Baptist Church and is looking forward to learning to live a better Christian life both personally and professionally. Scott came back to Culpeper County Blue Devil Lacrosse in 2011 and will coach year round. He was recently married on October 22, 2011 to the love of his life, Jennifer Lynn Pisczek, a former funeral director.
Joe Misko, Funeral Director
Joe has worked at all three of our funeral chapels in different titles. He is currently a funeral director at our Fredericksburg location. He has been a funeral service professional for over 15 years. Joe is a resident of Fredericksburg and has a 20 year old son, Will, who is attending Elon University in North Carolina. He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce.
Luke Boles, Funeral Director
Luke is a native of Loudoun County, VA and began his career in funeral service by caring for families in the Washington Metropolitan area. After learning traditional Virginia funeral care, Luke spent 8 years serving families in Florida, which provided him with expertise in event planning and cremation with unique memorialization. He is proud to be a part of Found & Sons uncompromising service and dedication.
Luke attended the University of the District of Columbia and is a graduate of St. Petersburg College. He is a volunteer with the Prince William Chapter of the American Red Cross,a member of the Battlefield Kiwanis Club and an active Mason.
Patrick J. Burton, Funeral Director
Rejoining the Found and Sons family after some time away, Patrick is a Kansas native and US Navy Veteran. He started his life in funeral service at Found and Sons in 1998 and earned his license in 2001, after graduating from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Patrick is relocating to Culpeper, the community he loves and has served as a member of American Legion Post #330 and attends Precious Blood Catholic Church with his long time love and new wife Beth C. (Riley) Burton.
Donna Dyer, Accounting Coordinator
Donna joined us in 1997 and serves as the Accounting Coordinator for Culpeper, Fredericksburg and Manassas locations. She and her husband, Jimmy live in Madison, Virginia with their two daughters, Maci and Meagan. Donna stays very busy with her daughters, who both play Fastpitch softball. She is a Life Member of the Orange County Rescue Squad and attends Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Donna is also a volunteer with the Rappahannock–Rapidan Medical Reserve Corp.
Teresa Franklin, Office Manager
Teresa is much more than our Office Manager, as she takes on many other administrative and client service responsibilities. She lives in King George with her three children, and is a volunteer for Hospice Support Care. Teresa also is an active member of the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce.
Christina Davis, Office Manager
Christina has lived in Culpeper since 1992 and is a 2001 graduate of Culpeper County High School. She joined our Found and Sons Culpeper staff in February of 2006 as our Office Manager and takes great pride in assisting the families that Found and Sons has the privilege of serving. She and her daughter Mackenzie reside in Culpeper.
Tara Scott, Office Manager
Tara is the office manager in our Manassas office. She takes great pride in her job at Found and Sons. She grew up in Manassas area and attended Manassas Park High School. Tara currently resides in Bealeton with her husband Nelson, daughter Kirsten and son Nelson Jr.
Ray Rhodes, Funeral Intern
Ray has in lived in Spotsylvania County since 1994. His is currently attending John Tyler Community College to earn his Associate's Degree in Mortuary Science. Ray graduated from Bayport/Blue Poin HS on Long Island, New York in 1981. He attended Stony Brook University and received his BS in Applied Mathematics in 1986. Ray is currently serving his internship at the Fredericksburg Chapel.
Johnny Price, Funeral Assistant
Johnny is a native of Culpeper County. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1965, and served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. After an Honorable Discharge in 1969, Johnny joined the Culpeper Police Department and served the citizens of the Town of Culpeper from 1969 to1972. He then went on to serve the Vienna Police Department in Vienna, Virginia from 1972 until he retired as Deputy Chief of Police in 2005. Johnny and his wife, Madeline, have a son, daughter and five grandchildren. Johnny joined the Culpeper staff in August 2006. He is our Monument and Memorial Manager, assisting families in the selection of gravestones and markers. Johnny is a member and Deacon of Good Hope Baptist Church in Madison County. He is also a graduate and member of the FBI National Academy, member of the Masons, VFW Post 2524, American Legion, FOP, and Virginia State Crime Prevention Association
Charles L.E. Shewbridge Jr., Funeral Assistant
Charles lives on the lake in the Lake Caroline Community. He is retired from Levi Strauss & Co. as a Sales Manager after 25 years of service. He worked another 23 years in various men's clothing retail operations. Charles has spent his whole life assisting others. His community activities include, three time President of the Lake Caroline Property Owner's Association Board, Usher and Greeter at Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church, Virginia Sheriffs' Institute, and Virginia State Police Association. Charles has been married for 50 years to his wife, Jeanette. They have three adult children and six grandchildren.
